JOSEPHINE BAKER
On April 12, 1975, Joséphine Baker died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Paris.
She had recently held her last triumphal show, to celebrate her 50-year career.

And she really was legendary. Born very poor in Missouri, she conquers all of Europe with her Danse Sauvage wearing only a banana skirt. She participated in the Resistance against the Nazis and after the war she fought for civil rights. The commitment against racism also brought him into private life: she adopted 12 children from all over the world, her "rainbow tribe", which she raised, not without difficulty.
